National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) Soars on Debut, Shares List 15% Higher
National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) shares had a robust start on Wednesday, opening 15% above the issue price of Rs 800. NSDL shares debuted at Rs 880 on the BSE, marking a 10% premium over the issue price. The stock surged further by 15% to reach Rs 920, propelling the company's market valuation to Rs 18,249 crore on the BSE. NSDL's Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Rs 4,011 crore garnered a subscription of 41 times on the closing day of bidding on Friday. Despite NSDL's success, the overall market trend was negative, with the BSE Sensex slipping by 102.09 points or 0.13% to 80,608.16 during Wednesday's trading session. NSDL had previously raised over Rs 1,201 crore from anchor investors. The IPO was priced in the range of Rs 760-800 per share, as reported by PTI. The IPO consisted solely of an Offer For Sale (OFS) component of 5.01 crore shares, with shares being divested by the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, Union Bank of India, and Administrator of Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India (SUUTI). As the IPO was entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), NSDL did not receive any funds directly from the public issue. With this listing, NSDL becomes the second depository in India to be publicly traded, following CDSL, which was listed in 2017.

BENGALURU: UAE-based spend management platform Alaan has raised $48 million in a Series A round led by Peak XV Partners, marking one of the largest early-stage funding deals in the Middle East's fintech sector. The round saw participation from 885 Capital founders Sudeep Ramnani and Jai Mahtani, Y Combinator, 468 Capital, and Pioneer Fund. The funding, which was oversubscribed, included both primary and secondary components.
